Buy Now, Play Later

We created this website to be a way to help your favorite places that might be confronting real challenges right now. You can help support them by considering getting a gift certificate, and using it later down the road.

This way you can help keep some cash flowing for those places that are temporarily having to reduce their hours or shut their doors for a few weeks, and keep them going through this time.

If you have kids, this is a great time to recruit them and make some ‘mood boards’ and put those gift certificates on the board along with pictures of the places that you’re planning on going to in the future. The kids can help suggest their favorite spots – in fact, if they are old enough, you can recruit them to help make budgets for entertainment spending and let them “buy” one gift certificate a week after they’ve finished their chores or homework. It’s a way to both reward them, but also to show them the value of giving back and supporting your local community.

So take a minute, find your favorite place, and buy now, play later!

For Employees Affected by the COVID-19 Situation

At this point in time, we probably all personally know someone who has been laid off, had their hours cut down, or been told their job was in jeopardy. It’s important that everyone knows about the resources in place for those affected by this. The Washington State Employment Security Department has proactively made MANY changes to help ensure that workers get help. Ideas for Fun (and Safe!) Outdoor Recreation

With spring just arrived, the great outdoors are a wonderful place to get some fresh air, sunshine and exercise! But there’s a few things to keep in mind and tips on planning ahead.
Make sure you go places where you can keep a good “social distance” – try to avoid super-crowded parks and trails and take your time to give people plenty of space to pass by you with a good six feet of distance.
Many facilities, like public park restrooms, could be closed. Not all places will be able to keep up on the cleaning/sanitizing methods that are critical right now, and many public facilities could be closed or in limited operation. Plan for the unexpected.
As tempting as it might be, playgrounds might not be a good option right now. The coronavirus has been shown to live up to several days on plastic and stainless steel (which is what most playground equipment is made of of.) Better to grab your bikes or tricycles and go for a ride in the neighborhood.
